Rose City High Students Shine in Summer Arts Mentorship Programs

This summer, Rose City High School art students participated in a mentorship program at Artworx LA and Creative Wellbeing. Working on Pasadena Unified School District’ annual “No Boundaries” art exhibition sparked their interest in careers in the arts, and teaching artists from Artworx LA and mentorships made a big impact, giving them insight and guidance on the next steps in their career paths.

PUSD is sharing some highlights from students who participated in No Boundaries, their art, and their experience in the mentorship program this summer.

• Violette received a scholarship from the Armory to take classes from this summer until next April, one class at a time but with no limits on the number of courses!

• Johnny learned Character Design at ArtCenter College of Design. Check out a sample of his artwork below.

• Vivian completed the Procreate Design course at ArtCenter College of Design, a special program developed in partnership for the summer. Vivian received an iPad and Apple Pencil for completing the program. The photos below show Vivian at work, in front of the Artworx LA students and in the galleries.

• Milana overcame challenges and completed Otis College of Art and Design’s Summer of Art. Check out photos of Milana with her artwork at the culminating exhibition.
