San Marino High School’s Kimia H. Selected as FIRST Steve Stark Memorial Scholarship Recipient

First (FIRST Robotics Competition) things first! Please join San Marino High School (SMHS) in congratulating senior, Kimia H., on receiving the Steve Stark Memorial Scholarship recently from the Orange County Robotics Alliance! This incredibly talented Titan/Titanium Robotics team member has also been accepted to Caltech!

The scholarship’s namesake, Steve Stark, started with FIRST as a mentor for his son’s team, continued to serve as a leader for other teams, and ultimately became the regional chair for San Diego.

The growth and success of FIRST in Southern California are a testament to his tireless advocacy and passion.

SMHS is excited to see the wonderful ways Kimia will dedicate herself to her passions and to helping others, as Steve did, throughout her new journey ahead!

About FIRST Robotics Competition

Under strict rules, limited time and resources, teams of students are challenged to raise funds, design a team “brand,” hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team. Each season ends with an exciting FIRST Championship.
