September: Empowering PUSD Students with Library Resources and Literacy Initiatives

September marks Library Card Sign-Up Month, with September 8th celebrated as International Literacy Day. The Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) is reinforcing its commitment to improving math and literacy proficiency while ensuring college and career readiness in an environment that prioritizes student well-being. These goals are essential to empowering students to reach their full potential in an increasingly complex world. With the invaluable support of the community, PUSD is harnessing the “Power of Us” to enhance literacy, math skills, and access to college and career opportunities for all students.

A great starting point is to sign up for a Pasadena Public Library card and explore the wealth of free resources available across ten library branches. These include computer and Wi-Fi access, a variety of items like microscope slides, models, and maps available for check-out, homework help and tutoring programs, as well as online resources accessible 24/7 through their website, www.CityOfPasadena.Net/Library. Additionally, residents can visit altadenalibrary.org and www.cityofsierramadre.com/services/library for more local library resources.
