Sequoyah History Students Engage in Q&A with Renowned Historian Kathleen DuVal



Students in the Sequoyah School’s Advanced Studies (SAS)’ United States History class participated in a virtual Q&A session with renowned historian Kathleen DuVal, one of the co-authors of their textbook, Give Me Liberty! An American History. DuVal, who holds the title of Carl W. Ernst Distinguished Professor of History at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is a leading scholar in Early American and Indigenous history. During the session, students explored the work of professional historians and gained insight into the complexities of writing about the past for diverse audiences.
