Sequoyah Students Champion Voter Engagement and Democracy in Action

Sequoyah High School students organized a two-day, non-partisan postcarding event to encourage eligible voters to head to the polls today. At Sequoyah, democratic principles guide the community’s approach to living and learning together—through respect, active listening, engagement, and even disagreement. Students and staff don’t just envision the world they want to live in; they actively practice it. As the election approaches with its tension and closeness, they are reminded that democracy is sustained by everyday actions, emphasizing respect, compassion, and mutual support during uncertain times.
