Sequoyah’s Social Innovation Program Students Learn the Process of Rainwater Capture, Purification and Storage

Last Friday, Sequoyah’s Social Innovation Program (SIP) students studying water toured a residential grey water system with Greywater Corp. Staff members Josep Ferrer and Sequoyah alum Ned White walked students through the process of rainwater capture, water purification and water storage. Teaching students the basics of the handling and treating of rainwater for potable use is necessary because rainwater harvesting can provide a realistic source of water for local residents in case there’s water shortage in the area. Some residents may prefer rainwater for its taste, softness or other desirable qualities. In these situations, residents may find large-scale rainwater harvesting
a practical alternative.

Sequoyah School thanks Greywater Corp. for spending time with the students.
