Sierra Madre Middle School Students Earn Honors at State Science Fair

Sierra Madre Middle School is celebrating the remarkable accomplishments of students Ava Ayvazyan, Kietsai Sora-Lee, Alexander Simonian, and Josiah Dev Anandhan, who qualified to compete at the California State Science and Engineering Fair this past weekend. Among the group’s standout achievements, Kietsai Sora-Lee earned First Place in the Environmental Engineering Junior Division, marking an exceptional milestone.

In addition, all four students were nominated to apply for the prestigious Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge, considered the nation’s premier STEM research competition for middle school students. Invitations to apply are extended only to the top 10% of sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students competing at Society-affiliated fairs each year, making the nominations an extraordinary honor for the Sierra Madre Middle School scholars.
