SMUSD: What the World Needs Now is Love

The 4-12th grade choirs of SMUSD recently joined forces to put together a mass performance of Burt Bacharach’s hit, “What the World Needs Now is Love.” At a time when feelings of isolation and division seem widespread, “What the World Needs Now is Love” reminds everyone of what is really important: to feel connected and to feel loved. This project has connected choral students from all four of SMUSD schools through song, and… “we hope that all who watch this video share in that feeling of connectedness.” Ms. Hsu and Mr. Jamieson wish to thank all of their singers for contributing their time, energy, and their voices to make this project a reality.

A special thank you goes to the San Marino High School (SMHS) Chamber Choir members who took the time to visit with and mentor the elementary choir students during their Zoom rehearsal a few weeks ago. Ms. Hsu especially wants to thank the elementary school families for helping out the choir kids to record their videos, some of whom stayed up late in order to make the submission deadline. On behalf of all of the choir students, SMUSD hope you enjoy “What the World” and wish everyone a safe and pleasant Thanksgiving.
