South Pasadena High School Hosts First Softball and Baseball Games on Campus Since the Start of the Pandemic

On March 6, 2021, the South Pasadena High School (SPHS) Baseball and Softball teams competed in off-season matches. It has been almost a year since these teams have competed on the home fields. All student-athletes, coaches, and umpires wore masks. Spectators adhered to social distancing guidelines by bringing their own chairs and wearing face coverings.

“I felt extremely proud when every family contributed in making this possible for our community,” said SPHS Athletic Director Anthony Chan. “My favorite saying is, ‘It takes a village.’ Undoubtedly, the entire village helped make it work on Saturday. A huge, heartfelt thank you to the families in attendance. It brought immense joy to all of us to have things run smoothly.”

The SPHS Cross Country, Boys Water Polo and Football teams will be competing on March 11 and 12.
