South Pasadena High School Senior Wins ACSA Speech Contest



The Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) recently selected South Pasadena High School senior Kai Arakawa as the winner of a multi-round High School Oratory Contest sponsored by the organization. After weeks of coaching and practice with his Academic Decathlon coach, Oliver Valcorza, Arakawa competed against 25 students from all over Southern California and won the ACSA regional contest, held on March 6, 2019 in Pasadena, Calif. He will be awarded a certificate and an $800 cash prize at the organization’s spring conference and awards banquet on April 29, 2019.
