South Pasadena High School Tiger Newspaper Wins Silver Crown

The Columbia Scholastic Press Association awarded the Tiger Newspaper staff a “Silver Crown” at its 97th annual, virtual spring convention recently.

The Crown Award recognizes the excellent work done by the Tiger staff during the 2019-2020 school year and affirms Tiger’s place as one of the top high school news organizations in the country. This is the fourth time that Tiger has earned this distinction in the past 25 years.

Tiger, tigernewspaper.com and Tiger’s social media were commended for their high standard of journalism, especially during a very difficult year. The CSPA noted Tiger’s ability to adjust to distance learning while providing the school and community with important and timely information during the pandemic.

SPUSD congratulates the Tiger staff for its outstanding achievement.
