South Pasadena High School’s “Metamorphoses” Honored at CETA’s Fall Play Festival

On December 10, 2019, the California Educational Theatre Association (CETA) announced that South Pasadena High School (SPHS) Drama Club’s performance of “Metamorphoses” placed in the top three in Los Angeles County and the top seven in Southern California during the annual Fall Play Festival.

Because of the top three finish, student performers have been invited to the next stage of competition at CETA’s Southern High School Theatre Festival, January 18-20, 2019, where they will perform an excerpt from the show. Written by Mary Zimmerman, “Metamorphoses” is based on the myths of Ovid and staged in a pool of water built by SPHS stage crew.
