South Pasadena Middle School Upstanders Create a Week of Stress-Reducing Activities for Middle Schoolers

South Pasadena Middle School student group, the Upstanders, in conjunction with South Pasadena Unified School District’s Train Your Brain staff are recognizing National Stress Awareness Month to remind students that managing stress can improve mental and physical well-being.

The Upstanders peer mediation group, composed of seventh and eighth grade students, planned stress-reducing activities during lunch on Tuesday through Friday this week. With support from SPMS PTSA parent volunteers, students are offering different activities with reminders that managing stress is an essential component of a healthy lifestyle. Activities such as making stress balls, “shredding” stress, and creating art projects from an activity cart will be included as part of the week-long event.
