Southwestern Academy: Welcome to the New School Year 2019-2020

A stream of new and returning students arrived on campus at Southwestern Academy in San Marino this Tuesday. Students from the Ukraine, Vietnam, Mexico, Japan, Canada, China, Macau, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Nigeria, Taiwan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Switzerland, and The United States were welcomed by Southwestern admissions staff, faculty, proctors and administrators.

Students registered for school and busily walked around saying hello to familiar faces. The students easily completed the admissions process with parents and relatives looking on excitedly in support.

It all went smoothly as students were given binders, dorm assignments, and schedules. Families and students were then treated to an outdoor meal with a choice of either cheeseburgers or veggie burgers. People gathered around picnic tables and chatted about summer trips while showing off their stylish new school outfits and fresh haircuts. The returning students all looked a bit older and taller, and the new students looked a bit nervous, but the student proctor leaders helped guide everyone along.

All indications are good that Southwestern Academy will have yet another great year, filled with a diverse group of students from around the world.
