Southwestern Academy’s 2020-2021 School Safely Hits the Ground Running!

Head of School, Ms. Jarchow, welcomes back two of our seniors!

Dear Southwestern Family and Friends,

Despite all odds, Southwestern Academy’s 2020-2021 school year has arrived and we have excitedly and safely hit the ground running!

Following a small but successful 2020 Summer Adventures Program—with zero COVID cases among all students, faculty, and staff—our annual Registration Day began on August 31st with us welcoming back new and returning boarding students.

Our top priority is, as always, ensuring all students experience a safe and superior education. With that in mind, we moved up Registration Day for our boarding students to allow enough time for them to quarantine before reintroducing them to the general population inside our “bubble” here on campus. Our commuting students visited us on September 8th by appointment to register, receive class schedules and any other school materials they may need for their off campus classes.

Head of School, Ms. Jarchow, welcomes back two of our seniors!

Distance-learning classes began on September 9th for all of our students both at home and on campus. Utilizing the learning management system, Moodle, for our distance-learning needs, our faculty is extremely eager to interact with their students again. Implementing two sections of instruction, our goal is to make sure we meet the academic needs of all of our students.

As we get ready to celebrate our 97th anniversary this school year, we are enthusiastic about the future and cannot wait to have all of our students back on campus!
