Southwestern Students Shone at ArtsFest

Southwestern Academy hosted their 2017 ArtsFest on Thursday, April 27. The annual event included an evening of live, student-performed music as well as an outdoor art gallery with architectural drawings, photography, watercolor art, creative writing, stained glass and many other forms of creative expression. Students used Converse high top shoes as alternative canvases to paint in the style of famous artists.

This year’s mural featured five different faces representing five different forms of artistic expression and was created by Leni Dai. The logo was designed by Ray Cheng and is created in a sharp, stylized design.

There were also tables set up displaying live 3-D printing, a henna and face painting booth and recycled jewelry for sale.
