SPUSD Recognizes Julian Petrillo with Golden Apple Award

South Pasadena Unified School District (SPUSD) congratulates Julian Petrillo, who recently received the Association of California School Administrator’s Golden Apple Award for Volunteerism. Recognized at an awards ceremony on March 21, 2023, Petrillo was acknowledged for more than 15 years of service. Petrillo’s efforts have included membership in three parcel tax committees, including as an Oversight Committee member and Chair of the committee on two separate occasions.

In addition, Assistant Superintendent Dave Lubs highlighted Petrillo’s contributions to PTAs at the elementary, middle and high school levels, to various sports and extracurricular activities for students, to the District’s LCAP Parent Advisory Committee, and especially as an extraordinary videographer and storyteller who helped high school students create community video assemblies during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Thank you, Julian Petrillo, for countless hours of energy, support, dedication, and volunteer service benefiting South Pasadena Unified School District. We appreciate you!”
