St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish School’s 2020 First Communion Celebration

St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish School extends its congratulations to the Spartans on receiving their Sacrament of First Communion Sunday morning. God’s Blessings to you as you continue your Faith’s journey.

The Eucharist is the ‘source and summit’ of one’s life as a Catholic. It is the climax of the initiation as Christians. Each time Catholics celebrate the Eucharist they affirm the faith that they professed in Baptism and Confirmation earlier in their lives.

The sacrament of Holy Communion brings to completion the Christian process of initiation. In this sacrament, the St. Elizabeth School students remember what Jesus did for them in his life, death, and resurrection. Catholics remember particularly the Last Supper, that final meal Jesus shared with his disciples. At that meal, Jesus gave the Eucharist so that they could remember him in a special way. When one receive Communion, they believe that they receive the person of Jesus into their very beings.
