St. Francis High School Juniors Complete Day of LA’s Union Rescue Mission

This year, as part of the updated Christian service requirements, all St. Francis juniors are required to complete one “Day of Service” and 15 additional hours of service to the community. A few weekends ago, the first group of juniors traveled to the Union Rescue Mission, a homeless and social services agency in downtown Los Angeles. Under the supervision of a kitchen staff, these young men helped prepare and serve dinner to over 200 homeless men and women living on Skid Row. Once again, the experience was transformational for the Golden Knights who participated. This “Day of Service” is one step towards developing men of character committed to a life of service in the Capuchin Franciscan tradition.
