St. Philip the Apostle 7th Graders Visits Cabrillo Marine Aquarium

Last week, St. Philip the Apostle School 7th graders had a wonderful field Trip to the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium. Southern California’s sandy beaches are teeming with life, although much stays hidden to the human eye. As the tide rises and falls, different species, from those under the sand and water to those above it, take advantage of the food, space, and other resources of this ecosystem. The 7th graders examined the ecology of the local sandy beaches. With a focus on local species, students looked for animal adaptations, as well as thought about their own role in the health of this unique habitat.
