St. Philip the Apostle School 8th Graders Participate in the Tradition of May Crowning

Last Friday, St. Philip the Apostle School (SPAS) 8th graders partook in the tradition of May Crowning. Their families were able to safely attend the Prayer Service. It has been a long-standing Catholic tradition to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary in May. In most Catholic churches and schools, a “May Altar” is erected with a statue or picture of Mary, flowers, and perhaps candles. The altar stands from May 1 to 31 as a reminder of Mary’s importance in the life of the Church and in everyone’s lives as well.
