St. Philip the Apostle School Students’ Field Trips – Connecting Education Beyond the School Experience

St. Philip the Apostle School (SPAS) students had a lot of fun taking learning outside of the classroom on a few field trips recently. Fifth graders visited the Glendale Planetarium, and the eighth grade saw an oval office replica at the Nixon Library, while the SPAS kindergartners saw a play at PCC’s Beckman Auditorium. This is one way teachers demonstrate the value of subjects in a wider life context by connecting student interests to real world experiences and creating active learners who see the classroom as a place they want to be.
