St. Rita School First Graders Discover the Joy of Prayer

At St. Rita School, the first grade class is discovering that prayer is simply talking to God. Through gentle guidance and meaningful classroom moments, students are learning that prayer doesn’t have to be complicated or formal—it can be as natural as sharing their thoughts, feelings, gratitude, and hopes. This foundational lesson helps young learners understand that God is always listening, whether they are speaking aloud or praying quietly in their hearts.

To bring this lesson to life, the students had the opportunity to practice prayer together, creating a warm and supportive environment where each child could feel comfortable expressing themselves. These moments not only strengthen their faith, but also encourage confidence, reflection, and a sense of peace. As they continue to grow, these early experiences will help shape a lifelong understanding of prayer as a personal and meaningful connection with God.
