Start Your Child’s Education Right

Early education is vital to build a fountain of lifelong learning. Make sure your child gets off to the right start with the Pasadena Unified School District’s Early Childhood Education Program.

Choose from Full Day preschools, which are offered at four Children Centers or Part Day Preschools that are offered on 16 different campuses. Before and After Care programs are also available on select campuses. Children learn and develop social and emotional skills as well as prepare for Kindergarten through critical thinking, STEAM, language development and arts. They offer Dual Language Programs in both Spanish and Mandarin.

Preschool Teachers all hold a CDE Child Development Teacher Permit and a BA in Child Development or a related field with a total of 24 units in Early Childhood Education. The adult-to-child ratio is 1-to-8 so each child gets personalized attention.

The Early Childhood Education Department is a separate department from the Birth-to-Five Program and Special Education Preschool Program. You do not have to be a resident of Pasadena to enroll, our preschool program is open to all communities.

Subsidized cost and no cost preschool options are also available to qualifying families.

Enrollment for the PUSD Early Childhood Education 2017-2018 school year is open now.
