Stratford School Altadena Opens New Middle School Building

Now Enrolling Early Preschool through Grade 8

Stratford School Altadena kicked off its ninth school year in the community last week and welcomed their excited grade 6 through 8 students to a new Middle School building and outdoor learning area. The expansive building was renovated over the summer, creating two new spacious classrooms, an outdoor learning area, basketball and pickleball courts, and a new lunch area for middle schoolers.

The growing campus, which started with just 19 students, now serves over 200 students, with dedicated Preschool, Elementary, and Middle School buildings, a large multi-purpose room, two playgrounds, a library, and a field. Responding to the families’ requests, in addition to its advanced STEAM-based curriculum, the school now offers a flourishing Mandarin Bilingual program for Preschool and Pre-kindergarten students along with Mandarin as a specialty language for Elementary students, who can now choose to study either Spanish or Mandarin as their second language option.

With parents looking for an earlier start for their little ones, Early Preschool (starting at age 2, with no potty training required) is also offered with a joyful program tailored for the youngest learners. Parents can also enroll their students as soon as they turn 2, as Stratford offers rolling enrollment throughout the year for all Preschool, Elementary, and Middle School programs, depending on availability.

Stratford School, founded in the Bay Area by educator Sherry Adams, celebrates 25 years of excellence in education this year. Stratford’s innovative and balanced STEAM-based curriculum provides a strong academic foundation in a nurturing learning environment, designed to spark curiosity, encourage critical thinking, foster a lifetime love of learning, and prepare students for success in their unique futures.
