Students Cultivated Creativity at ArtsFest

Southwestern Academy hosted their 2016 ArtsFest on Thursday, April 14. The event included an evening of live, student-performed music as well as an outdoor art and photography gallery. Everything from the stage backdrop to the stained glass panels were created by the students and showed the school’s creativity.

This year, students transformed white Converse high top sneakers into works of art inspired by artists like Georgia O’Keeffe, Pablo Picasso and Edvard Munch. These stylish kicks were presented on poster displays that included information about the artists, their style of painting and a few of their most famous works.
