The Waverly School’s Middle School Poetry Class Creates “Found Poems”

This week, the Waverly School middle school creative writing class started their unit on poetry by creating “found poems.” Found poems are made by copying a random page from any book (in this case, The Stories of Edgar Allen Poe) and choosing words and phrases from the text to form a poem as each student read down the page. The words and phrase are isolated and highlighted by a design of the poet’s making. Check out the beautiful, creative finished products!
