There is Something New at Alverno High School

Alverno Students may have noticed some new additions to the recently landscaped areas on the campus! Thanks to the efforts of the APA and the support of all the guests at Alverno High School’s Annual Gala last March, the school was able to purchase new outdoor benches, dining tables and umbrellas for the area around the cafeteria and also purchased new umbrellas for the tables on the terrace. The students love to sit outside to eat lunch and study after school and these umbrellas go a long way towards keeping them comfortable.

The remaining funds raised at the 2015 Gala, which totaled more than $80,000, will be applied to the Learning Technology Center (LTC) Campaign. This campaign is raising funds to renovate the school library into a state-of-the-art multimedia center that will provide students with updated technology and wireless access, group meeting rooms, a language lab, open spaces for learning, and contemporary furniture and new carpeting. Plans call for the project to begin in early 2016 with completion slated for September 2016.

Alverno High School (AHS) is so pleased to add these newest projects to the list of wonderful changes that have taken place at the school in the past year. AHS thanks everyone in the Alverno community for their ongoing support as they update facilities and beautify the campus in order to provide students with the best environment in which to pursue their education.
