Thurgood Marshall Principal Joins Community in Sierra Madre Fourth of July Parade

Lori Touloumian, principal of Thurgood Marshall Secondary School, enjoyed a front-row seat at the Sierra Madre Fourth of July Parade as the community gathered to celebrate Independence Day. The parade featured a distinguished lineup of elected officials, including Rep. Judy Chu (California’s 28th Congressional District), Sen. Sasha Renée Pérez (California Senate District 25), Assemblymember John Harabedian (California Assembly District 41), and Councilmember Kelly Kriebs, along with PUSD Superintendent Elizabeth Blanco. A special highlight was seeing rising senior and high school volunteer Santiago Ruiz Smith proudly lead the PUSD Middle School Band Camp Band through the parade route. The festive event brought together local leaders, students, and residents in a celebration of community spirit and patriotism during the Fourth of July holiday.
