Thurgood Marshall Student Guadalupe Zamora Blazes a Trail at Camp Cinder

Celebrating Guadalupe Zamora, a Thurgood Marshall Secondary School rising Junior who shared her Camp Cinder experience. During the week of June 23rd, Guadalupe was among a cohort of young women who attended a 5-day sleep-away experience at Camp Cinder in San Luis Obispo through CalFire, which trained girls from all over the state to be ready to apply to the fire service.

Guadalupe mentioned, “I’m incredibly grateful that I got to experience Camp Cinder. It was truly the most incredible experience that I’ll never forget. Not only did I learn firefighting skills and techniques, but I learned a lot about myself and met some amazing, inspiring women. This camp really inspired me to continue my passion for joining the fire department, and I look forward to my future.”

Thurgood Marshall is excited for Guadalupe and her interest in public safety and her future hopes in being a first responder in service to others.
