Tiger Marching Band and Color Guard Take Third Place in WBA State Championship



South Pasadena Unified School District (SPUSD) congratulates the SPHS Marching Band and Color Guard, which earned third place in the Western Band Association (WBA) Finals in Fresno, California on November 22, 2025. The Tigers finished in first place in the Southern California region.

The band and color guard performed a Fahrenheit 451 Repertoire, including Ride of the Valkyries by Richard Wagner, Set Fire to the Rain by Adele, and Fire by Jimi Hendrix. This year’s drum majors are Jesse Li and Madelin Rentmeester.

Kudos to the student performers and their coaches, Walter Simonsen and Tim Orindgreff.
