TREEAMS Launches First Nursery to Help Restore Altadena

A TREEAMS (Trees + Dreams) team truly made a dream team as students from Saint Mark’s School and EF Academy Pasadena came together to launch the first TREEAMS nursery. Working side by side, they planted 30 native trees, including coast live oaks and sycamores, which will be carefully nurtured over the next one to two years before being planted throughout Altadena and shared with community members at no cost. The effort aims to help restore what was lost in the Eaton Fire while bringing new life and hope back to beloved neighborhoods. With the support of generous partners who donated trees and mulch, students took part in a meaningful day of service rooted in environmental stewardship. Inspired by Dr. Jane Goodall’s vision of youth-led action, they embraced the values of “Be the Good” and “Learn for Life” through hands-on impact and community care. The launch of the nursery marked not only a day of planting, but a powerful step toward healing and renewal for Altadena.
