Two-Week Training Period Ends for Fall Sports

December 11 marked the end of a two-week training period for Polytechnic School’s fall season sports including cross country, dance team and mascots, fencing, football, boys and girls volleyball, and boys and girls water polo. Limited conditioning and training for fall sports gave multisport student-athletes the opportunity to hone in on their fall sport.

Like previous training sessions held, teams maintained six-feet of social distancing, arrived and worked out in small cohorts, and trained with face coverings at all times. During these two weeks, Poly conducted COVID-19 testing for all of its student-athletes and coaches. Of the approximate 145 student-athletes tested, zero tests came back positive.

Athletics is taking a break this week during block week in the Upper School to allow its student-athletes to focus on their academic exams, projects, and papers before winter break. Although classes resume on January 4, Athletics does not anticipate returning to campus until January 11. Another COVID-19 testing date for the fall student-athletes will be held on Wednesday, January 6 before returning to campus. Stay tuned for more information during winter break.
