Visual Arts at Maranatha High School



Maranatha High School’s students have competed in various area-wide and national contests and have won numerous awards, including The Congressional Student Arts Competition, National Philanthropy Day, Huntington Hospital Public Art Exhibition, Art of Dairy Contest and Roses on Parade, LAUSD Student Competition, Scholastic Arts Student Competition. Many students go on to study art in leading art colleges and universities throughout the world.

Its art classrooms, photo studio/lab, and Mac Lab, as well as its beautiful campus setting, all aid in this endeavor. Topics explored through the program are: drawing methods, perspective, color theory, portrait drawing, oil and acrylic painting, some modern art techniques, basic printing, photography, graphic design, and much more.
