Walden’s 6th Grade Outdoor Learning Adventure in the Grand Tetons
The 6th grade Pearly Mussels spent a week in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, at the Teton Science School, whose mission is to “inspire curiosity, engagement and leadership through transformative place-based education.” The students traveled throughout the Jackson area to hike, ski, and snowshoe in Grand Teton National Park and Bridger-Teton National Forest. The trip offered a hands-on experiences in field ecology, including animal tracking, wildlife observation, ecological field research, alpine ecology, field journaling and sketching, and leave-no-trace backcountry ethic.
