Waverly Celebrates Earth Day with Green Projects and Big Ideas

Students at Waverly Elementary School joyfully celebrated Earth Day 2025 with a variety of hands-on, eco-friendly activities that highlighted the importance of caring for the planet. As part of their celebration, the students created colorful seed packets filled with pollinator-friendly seeds, ready to be sprinkled in gardens and green spaces around their community. They also took part in planting succulents, contributing to the creation of a vibrant plant wall that will serve as a lasting reminder of their commitment to sustainability.

In a creative twist, the students transformed discarded materials into an impressive Raven sculpture, showcasing how trash can be repurposed into meaningful art. Throughout the day, students engaged in lessons and discussions about the four R’s—reusing, repurposing, reducing, and recycling—gaining a deeper understanding of how small changes can make a big impact on the environment.

Waverly’s Earth Day celebration was not only fun and educational but also reinforced the school’s dedication to environmental stewardship and creative expression. #TheWaverlySchool #EarthDay2025
