Westridge School’s Class of 2016 Senior Tea Recap “A Tradition Close to Our Hearts”

This week, seniors donned festive hats at the annual end-of-year Senior Tea held at Head of School Elizabeth J. McGregor’s lovely backyard. The tradition was started by McGregor when she arrived at Westridge School and is one she holds close to her heart. McGregor remembers, “during our Centennial Year in 2013-2014, we looked through the school’s archives and discovered film from 1929 showing our graduating class having tea in hats, and pearls, and summer dresses. I showed the film to the Class of 2014 and they asked if they could please re-introduce the tradition. I was happy to agree, especially as it harkens back to my days of growing up in England and marking milestone occasions with a celebratory afternoon tea!”

Both McGregor and Director of Upper School, Gary Baldwin gave heartfelt and humorous remarks about the girls’ last year here. The tea time treats were equal parts sweet, savory, and delicious, as Director of Dining Services, Frances Yokota, and her team prepared yet another amazing event. We are so proud of our students and the Senior Tea is just one of many to come as we celebrate their time at Westridge.
