Westridge School’s Isabella Y. ’28 Leads Her Team to Victory at 2025 VEX Robotics Skills World Championship

Westridge School congratulates Isabella Y. ’28, who served as team captain and co-builder for a high school robotics team that took top honors at the 2025 VEX Robotics Skills World Championship, recently held in Dallas, Texas.
This global competition brings together the best student robotics teams from around the world to showcase their engineering, programming, and strategic skills. Unlike traditional tournaments with direct head-to-head matches, the Skills Championship focuses on individual team performance in two key areas: autonomous programming skills and driver-controlled skills. Teams compete to earn the highest combined score through precision driving and sophisticated coding—demonstrating both creativity and technical mastery.
Isabella played a key role in designing and building a high-performance robot, including an innovative 3-tier hanging mechanism that maximized scoring opportunities in the game-based challenges. Her leadership and engineering ingenuity helped propel the team to the top of the global rankings—an outstanding achievement!
