Westridge Senior Receives Sierra Club Youth Activist of the Year Award

Westridge School congratulates Senior Mirelle L. ’21, who was named Youth Activist of the Year by the Sierra Club’s Central Group chapter this week! In the announcement on Instagram Central Group said “Mirelle has shown outstanding leadership, like when she joined a protest of plastic packaging at a prominent grocery store. Mirelle didn’t leave until she spoke directly with grocery store management and urged them to consider plastic-free alternatives for shelving and displaying produce. Mirelle’s passion for zero-waste is an inspiration to us and we can’t wait to see how else she advocates for her community and the planet!”
