Where Sunshine Meets Science at Washington Elementary STEM Magnet

Sunshine, chalk, and curiosity came together to create a little science magic at Washington Elementary STEM Magnet. First graders stepped outdoors to explore how light creates shadows and how the sun moves across the sky, turning the playground into a living laboratory. Through hands-on observation and experimentation, students traced shadows, asked big questions, and made exciting discoveries in real time. The activity transformed a simple sunny day into an engaging STEM experience, proving that some of the best science lessons begin with curiosity – and a piece of chalk.
