Young PUSD Musicians to Star in Music Festival



Stellar young musicians from the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) will perform at the second of two All District Music Festivals on Friday, April 13, at 7:00 p.m. in the Pasadena High School auditorium. This annual event provides a first-class performance opportunity for student musicians from elementary and middle school programs to broaden their experience and prepare them for advanced musical training.

Musicians representing all PUSD middle and elementary school campuses will present symphonic band, orchestra, and a 200-voice elementary choir. Featured conductors include PUSD instrumental music staff Karen Klages, Amy McLean, Jeff Habell, and Philip Topping.

Pasadena native and PUSD graduate Laura Keverian Pitts will be the guest conductor of the elementary choir. Mrs. Pitts is on the faculty of Azusa Pacific University’s School of Music and is director of the choral ensembles at Polytechnic School in Pasadena.

The All-District Elementary & Middle School Music Festival, will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 7:00 pm at Pasadena High School, 2925 E. Sierra Madre Blvd., Pasadena. The concert is free and open to the public. Ample free parking is available.
