“In this interactive experience, guests will journey through the house in small groups, encountering a curated series of live performances that weave together dance, theatre, and narrative,” according to Visit Pasadena’s event description. “Along the way, you’ll be invited to reflect not only on the evolution of Broadway, but also on your own place in history.”
The site-specific production allows audiences to move through rooms at 4 Westmoreland Place while encountering live performances. “Here, as we move through the rooms of this architectural landmark, music, dance, and storytelling unfold in a series of intimate vignettes,” Lineage Performing Arts Center describes.
The approximately two-hour experience, including intermission, engages both architectural details and theatrical performances designed for each room’s spatial qualities.
“Musical theatre, like any art, is reflective of its societal context, and times right now are complicated so the content of this show will mirror that,” the company states.
Founded in 1999 by Artistic Director Hilary Thomas, Lineage Performing Arts Center operates as a nonprofit. The project receives funding from the City of Pasadena Arts & Culture Commission and Cultural Affairs Division.
The venue presents accessibility challenges with low light and stairs throughout. Prospective attendees requiring accommodations should contact the venue in advance.
