On Thursday, July 9, the South Pasadena Farmers’ Market returns for another evening of California-grown produce beneath a canopy of towering trees.
The certified market, established in 1999 and run by the nonprofit South Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, gathers dozens of farmers and vendors selling fruit, vegetables, eggs, meat, cheese, honey, bread and prepared foods. Live music and a diverse roster of food stalls give the market the feel of a weekly neighborhood gathering, and its walkable Mission West District setting means shoppers can wander into nearby shops and restaurants that stay open late on market nights.
Families often make an evening of it, picnicking nearby and lingering as the light fades. Free public parking is available in the Mission Meridian lot just north of Mission Street on Meridian Avenue.
