This is a great home for entertaining with living room, family room, formal dining room and kitchen all communicating well to a variety of curated spaces outdoors. The beautifully designed kitchen is special with La Cornue range, hand sculpted paster hood, wood beamed ceiling, custom cabinetry, huge center island and paneled Sub-Zero refrigerator. Next to the living room is what the owners called the Secret garden. On warm party nights the two French doors open out and down to this secluded outdoor room.

On the main level an office and laundry area boast copious builtins. Upstairs find three spacious bedrooms. The owner’s suite enjoys an ensuite bath with lovely original tile. Another bedroom offers a large balcony with pool tree top views.

The backyard reveals itself beyond the keyhole gate. Glass protective eyes and decorative tiles from Turkey are inlaid into the paving around the large pool. The guest house is a very comfortable two-story with an airy upstairs and bathrooms on both floors; the downstairs very convenient to the pool. This upstairs space is quite refreshing and well-lit with windows on three sides. The balcony is surrounded by the branches of the mock orange tree with views into the yard below.

A tropic hideaway sits above the pool, surrounded by bamboo, fig, loquat and Traveler’s Palms. This private area feels quite separate from the house, a nice place to read, and large enough for a long feasting table. Adjacent to the large sparkling pool is a built-in barbecue and dining patio. A smaller ramada adjacent to the guest house integrates carved windows from Kathmandu in Nepal. It’s a shady place in the afternoon for poolside relaxation.
