For early risers seeking a sophisticated start to their Monday, the Triple Shot Jazz Trio offers a compelling musical alternative to standard morning routines.

On September 8, the trio continues their weekly residency at Jones Coffee Roasters in Pasadena, bringing together three distinguished music educators for an hour of free jazz from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The trio features Morgan Jones (piano), chair of the Keyboard Department at Los Angeles College of Music, Pasadena, and music director for American Contemporary Ballet; Scott Worthington (bass), principal bassist for Redlands Symphony and artist teacher at University of Redlands; and Marcelo Bucater (drums), chair of the Drum Department at Los Angeles College of Music who has performed with Carrie Underwood.

Each musician brings impressive credentials: Jones holds degrees from Juilliard and USC Thornton School of Music; Worthington studied at Eastman School of Music and received additional instruction at UC San Diego; and Bucater earned his master’s from California Institute of the Arts.

The performance requires no cover charge, offering a rare opportunity to experience high-caliber jazz in a casual setting.
