Adult Crafternoon: Fall Wreath

Altadena Library District offers free craft event at renovated park ten months after Eaton Fire
Published on Nov 19, 2025

The Altadena Library District invites residents to create hand-crafted fall wreaths at a free community event this week, marking the latest addition to a programming initiative launched at a renovated park following the devastating Eaton Fire that destroyed nearly everything in sight.

The event takes place Wednesday, November 19, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Altadena Library at Loma Alta Park. The library established a satellite branch at the park in May as part of its recovery strategy following the Eaton Fire, which burned 14,021 acres, killed 19 people, and destroyed 9,414 structures in Altadena.

The Adult Crafternoon series has hosted events at Loma Alta Park, including a program for windchimes. The series provides free creative activities during the community’s recovery period.

Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger funded multiple recovery initiatives at the park, including the “Alta Chat” community hub.

The library district received $3.6 million in state recovery funding through the 2025-26 Budget Act to support its rebuilding efforts. The district continues to serve residents as it navigates financial challenges from the fire’s destruction.

Adult Crafternoon: Fall Wreath will run on Wednesday, November 19 at 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Altadena Library at Loma Alta Park, 3330 N. Lincoln Avenue, Altadena, CA 91001.
