“Norton Simon 50 Years of Art and Music,” scheduled for Saturday, September 27, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., promises to reveal the collector’s lesser-known passion for music and its influence on his legendary eye for masterpieces.
“Music and art share a language of emotion and memory, and this program is a dialogue between Simon’s visual legacy and the musical heritage that inspired him,” said Emily Talbot, the chief curator at the Norton Simon Museum.
The celebration anticipates the museum’s exact 50th anniversary milestone, marked by the opening of “Gold: Enduring Power, Sacred Craft” exhibition on October 24.
The program is included with general museum admission. Free parking is available after 4 p.m., with wheelchair-accessible entrances and reserved seating in the Focus Gallery.
