Twenty-five years of gathering “the most wonderful and talented humans,” and now the Lineage Performing Arts Center is asking its community to believe in magic—$100,000 worth of it.
The Pasadena-based arts organization has set an ambitious fundraising goal for its Annual Gala on Saturday, September 20 at 5 p.m., themed around the transformative power that Artistic Director and Founder Hilary Thomas has spent over two decades cultivating.
“We’re aiming to raise $100,000 — and we’re counting on our incredible community of art lovers and Lineage believers to help us get there,” the organization announced on Instagram in July.
The gala promises “an unforgettable evening filled with inspiring performances, heartfelt storytelling, and the transformative power of the arts.” Guests will support Lineage’s mission to connect communities through movement, music, and meaningful engagement.
The fundraising push comes as the organization continues extensive community programming under Executive Director Cynthia Crass, who joined in June 2024, working alongside Thomas, who established Lineage Dance Company in 1999.
“For 25 years, we’ve been gathering some of the most wonderful and talented humans I’ve ever known and adding them to the family of Lineage artists,” Thomas said. “These artists have inspired and shaped our repertoire over the decades, challenging us to constantly create and grow.”
The organization serves more than nine students annually through its Artists in Schools program and operates Dance for Joy for approximately 30 participants with neurological conditions.
“It’s all about the Lineage Magic!” the organization declared.
Lineage Performing Arts Center’s Annual Gala “Magic” will run on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 5 p.m. Lineage Performing Arts Center, 920 E. Mountain Street, in Pasadena. For more information, call (626) 844-7008 or visit https://www.lineagepac.org/. Tickets: call for details.
