A new science workshop explores one of physics’ fundamental questions: Is light a particle or a wave? The program, titled “All About Light,” will take place Friday, January 16, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Hastings Branch Library.

The workshop will examine the nature of light, its behavior, and how scientific understanding has changed over time. Interactive demonstrations will help participants visualize complicated concepts, including recreations of experiments conducted by scientists like Newton.

Hastings Branch Library is located at 3325 East Orange Grove Boulevard in Pasadena. The facility features a 35-seat meeting room suitable for the program. The library branch opened February 17, 1959, as Pasadena’s eighth and final library branch, completing the city’s plan to bring library service within a mile of every home.

For participants requiring accessibility accommodations, the library requests that individuals contact the branch at least 72 hours in advance to ensure availability. Those with questions can reach Hastings Branch Library at (626) 744-7262.

“All About Light” will run on Friday, Jan. 16 at 4-5 p.m. at Hastings Branch Library, 3325 East Orange Grove Boulevard, Pasadena. For more information, call (626) 744-7262 or visit https://www.cityofpasadena.net/library/?trumbaEmbed=view%3Devent%26eventid%3D194741384.
