Since opening its doors in August 2025, Alloy Personal Training – East Pasadena has quickly become a destination for residents seeking a smarter, more personalized approach to fitness. Located at 3415 E Colorado Blvd., Suite 102, the studio brings a training model that blends individualized coaching with the energy of a supportive small-group environment—setting a new benchmark for what effective, sustainable fitness can look like.
Alloy’s philosophy is simple: help clients look good, feel great, and live life to the fullest. Behind those words is a structured, science-backed training system refined over 30 years. Alloy bridges the gap between one-on-one personal training and large group classes by offering small-group sessions capped at six clients. This ensures personalized coaching, proper technique, and consistent accountability—three essential ingredients for long-term success.
“We opened Alloy East Pasadena with one goal in mind: helping people move better, get stronger, and live healthier lives,” says owner TJ Tzao. “We intentionally built a space where members feel seen, supported, and challenged in a way that’s safe, effective, and sustainable.”
A Science-Driven, Client-Centered Approach
Each member begins with a comprehensive Starting Point Session that includes a movement assessment, body composition scan, and goal-setting discussion. This evaluation allows the coaching team to understand each individual’s needs—from injury history to lifestyle constraints to strength goals—so they can design a plan that is both personalized and progressive.
Training sessions follow Alloy’s proven methodology: strength-focused programming emphasizing proper form, mobility, functional movement, and injury prevention. With a maximum of six clients per session, coaches guide every step to ensure members progress safely and confidently.
“Alloy is built on the idea that connection and consistency create results,” Tzao explains. “When clients train in small groups and their coach truly knows their goals and capabilities, they show up more often—and that’s where meaningful change happens.”
Guided by Core Values, Built for Community
More than a fitness studio, Alloy East Pasadena is a community grounded in five core values: Unimpeachable Character, Humor with a Touch of Crazy, Sincere Candor, Competitive Spirit, and K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple). These values shape how the team coaches, communicates, and supports members through their fitness journeys.
“We want people to feel uplifted and empowered every time they walk through our doors,” says Tzao. “Fitness should be challenging, but also positive, supportive, and fun. That’s the culture we’re committed to.”
A Local Business With Local Roots
As a Pasadena resident and former emergency medicine physician, Tzao is passionate about creating a meaningful health resource for the community. Since opening, Alloy has partnered with local businesses, supported neighborhood events, and contributed to Pasadena’s growing wellness ecosystem.
Whether someone is looking to build muscle, improve mobility, lose weight, or simply feel better day to day, Alloy offers a structured path and the coaching support needed to succeed. As Tzao puts it, “We’re more than a place to work out—we’re a community where people can grow, stay accountable, and live life to the fullest.”
